Montecito

Set into the Montecito landscape, this project is envisioned as a contemporary Olson Kundig guest residence where architecture, craft, and terrain are brought into quiet conversation. Pre-construction began in winter 2023, setting the stage for an ambitious program of extensive site work and a refined architectural expression defined by floor-to-ceiling stacking window and door systems that open the home to light, landscape, and the rhythms of indoor-outdoor living.

True to Olson Kundig’s celebrated language of tactile materials and inventive metalwork, the home will be punctuated by custom details and signature “gizmos” that lend the architecture both precision and personality. Construction officially began in May 2025, with completion anticipated in fall 2026.
